King Saheed Osupa was born into a musically inclined family in Lagos, Nigeria. His father, Moshood Okunola, a fuji musician and music enthusiast as well as spending his early years with his grandmother, nurtured his early interest in Yoruba traditional rhythms and Islamic devotional poetry.
Immersed in the vibrant cultural milieu of Lagos, young Saheed Osupa drew inspiration from Fuji pioneer, Dr. Sikiru Ayinde Barrister and other Fuji musicians that came into limelight before him. By his teenage years, he was already performing at local events, showcasing a raw talent that hinted at his future stardom.
